• I had kept the fact that I was leaving a secret from the students, and all of the students who found out today were surprised.
  
• One student gave me a gift of chocolates, which was really lovely. She was almost crying when she gave them to me.

• One more day to go.
• I had a couple of good classes today, and I'm starting to feel a bit sad about leaving.

• Despite the very tense atmosphere at work, due to my manager being fired on Friday, I felt pretty relaxed. It's no secret that he and I didn't get along, and I have the feeling that he is blaming me for his situation. Eijit.

• My boss is a real smeghead.
• I work part time, and I had six classes without a break today, another teacher who is full time, had five classes all day.
• Another teacher interupted me in class, demanding I give him some lesson plans, for classes that had only been confirmed for me half an hour earlier.

• After much begging, pleading and crying from several people at work (both colleagues and students) I've agreed to work for another six weeks.
• The only person who isn't happy with this is my manager

• I have mixed feelings about leaving.

• This has been an odd week so far.
• Today, I was scheduled to work for six hours (One meeting, three classes and two tutorials), but after the meeting, I discovered that two of the classes and the two tutorials were cancelled, so I only had to take one class.

• Am I temperamental or what? One day I love my job, the next I loathe it.
• Friday was a public holiday, so I didn't have to work, but I had to work on Saturday. Whenever there has been a public holiday or long weekend this year, I've had to work on the Saturday.
  
• I arrived half an hour early to work this morning, and straight away my boss was acting like a smeghead.
• I found out that on Sunday, one of my students died of a serious illness.

• I have officially resigned. Although in reality I love working as a teacher, I need new challenges and a new opportunity has come my way. I finish in four weeks.
• A student, who had just finished her course, brought chocolates for all of the stass. Nice.

• The last few days have been very difficult for me, as I haven't really been able to concentrate well. The main reason has been due to the political crisis in Fiji. This may seem to be completely irrelevant to a teacher from New Zealand living and working in Colombia, but Fiji is a special place for me, as it is where my Father was born and grew up, and I was there during the first military coup in May 1987.
• Obviously this has nothing to do with my work directly, but it has meant that I'm not living up to my usual standards.

• The week ended pretty well, actually. despite having a meeting at 7 o'clock in the morning, and no classes until 3 o'clock in the afternoon.
• In the past, I've had students give me gifts, usually sweets or cake, sometimes inviting me out for coffee or a fresh fruit juice, but never before have I been given brocolli at work! Yesterday, one of the teachers asked me if I like brocolli, to which I said yes, of course. So when I arrived at work in the afternoon, she handed me a plastic bag. I asked what was inside, and she said "Brocolli!", I must've looked a bit puzzled, so she went on to explain that she had been given some brocolli, but doesn't eat it, so that's why she had asked me if I liked brocolli the day before, hence the gift!

• No problems today, as I had some great classes
• The only problems was a majorly overcrowded bus on the way home... I think I invented four new swear words, but i can't remember what they were!

• My boss is away for the week, and everything is running smoothly
• I had some good classes with students just starting to learn English
• Unfortunately I had two classes cancelled, but that meant I could leave early
